Anatomy: Bones and Muscles

This is a one week, 50 Hour, Anatomy: Bones and Muscles workshop designed for Yoga Instructors, Massage Therapists, and anyone wanting to know more about the human body. In class we will explore human anatomy through daily meditation, Yoga instruction, lecture, and palpation.

When you have completed the course you will:

- Obtain a basic understanding of where muscles are located in the body.

- Know how to use anatomy knowledge to enhance your and your student's yoga practice.

- Fulfill the recommended prerequisite for Deep Tissue 1: Form and Function.

- Learn basic pranayama breath techniques.

- Learn basic meditation and embodiment techniques.

- Learn basic Latin medical terminology and how it relates to Anatomy.

- Fill requirements to become a CA certified massage therapist.

- Earn 50 CEU NCBTMB credits.

- Gain critical thinking skills to identify what muscles are being used for various yoga asanas and movement.

- Utilize anatomy principles to take your yoga practice to the next level.

- Build confidence when educating clients and students about the benefits of yoga and massage.

During this course you will have the opportunity to:

- Learn how to build a medicine wheel with Guest presenter, Lorindra Frances?, as well as be guided through a medicine wheel journey.

- Participate in an optional juice cleans during the course.

- Utilize Harbin Hot Springs just minutes away from the classroom.

- Receive a professional massage.

 

Anatomy: Bones and Muscles, Preparing for success as an Acupuncturist- Emperor’s Power Study.

This is a 5 weekend series of 50 Hours preparing Acupuncture students for finals in, Anatomy: Bones and Muscles. In class we will explore human anatomy through daily meditation, movement instruction, lecture, and palpation.

When you have completed the course you will:

- Obtain an understanding of where muscles are located in the body.

- Know how to use anatomy knowledge to enhance your practice.

- Fulfill the recommended prerequisite for Deep Tissue 1: Form and Function.

- Learn basic pranayama breath techniques.

- Palpate fellow students and find muscles in different body types.

- Utilize the latest anatomy IPad apps to bring your learning to life.

- Learn basic meditation and embodiment techniques while listening to terminology.

- Learn basic Latin medical terminology and how it relates to Anatomy.

- Fill requirements to become a CA certified massage therapist.

- Earn 50 CEU NCBTMB credits.

- Gain critical thinking skills to identify what muscles are being used for various yoga asanas and movement.

- Utilize anatomy principles to take your movement practice to the next level.

- Build confidence when educating clients and students about the benefits of acupuncture.




Deep Tissue 1: Form and Function

This is a 50 hour, NCBTMB nationally accredited CEU course designed for all levels of students, from professional body workers needing a refresher on core body mechanics, to people new to body work starting on a healing path. You can use this certificate for city and national licensing. No experience is needed although some anatomy knowledge and massage training would be helpful.

In class, you will learn a 90 minute Deep Tissue 1 sequence focusing on the most common issues your clients, family and friends will come to you for. The sequence focuses on optimal body mechanics to achieve deep pressure and anatomical precision, as well as how to be gentle on the practitioner’s body so both you and your clients have great sessions.

In class we will:

- Improve balance and poster position to give maximum pressure with minimal effort, through daily yoga practice.

- Increase endurance to give multiple Deep Tissue massages a day and feel better than you did when you started giving.

- Learn how to make your own Deep Tissue cream and have some to take home with you.

- Detailed anatomy case study on Jay's top 20 muscles list as well as how to address injury.

- Develop deep “listening” skills through daily, guided meditation.

- Learn how to earn $10+ more an hour giving deep tissue massage vs. other modalities through business and marketing discussion.  

- Qualify for the top spa jobs, prime shifts, and a city business license. Meet massage insurance requirements, state and national certification.

- Special guest Lorindra Frances (Grand Mother) will be joining us for a medicine wheel journey.

- Embodiment yoga with applied anatomy lessons building strength and flexibility while reinforcing good posture patterns.

Deep Tissue 2: Dynamic Restructuring

This is a 50 hour, NCBTMB nationally accredited CEU course designed for all levels of students, from professional body workers needing a refresher on core body mechanics, to people new to body work starting on a healing path. You can use this certificate for city and national licensing. No experience is needed although some anatomy knowledge and massage training would be helpful.

In class, you will learn 90 minute Deep Tissue sequencing theory to customize a Deep Tissue session for any client complaint. The course focuses on optimal body mechanics to achieve deep pressure and anatomical precision, as well as how to be gentle on the practitioner’s body so both you and your clients have great sessions.

In class we will:

- Improve balance and poster position to give maximum pressure with minimal effort, through daily yoga practice.

- Increase endurance to give multiple Deep Tissue massages a day and feel better than you did when you started giving.

- Study common compensation patterns and how to work with them.

- Review anatomy and build critical thinking skills to build a custom session for your clients.

- Develop deep “listening” skills through daily, guided meditation.

- Learn to effectively educate your clients on the benefits of Deep Tissue massage and how to market your services to sell multiple Deep Tissue session packages.   

- Qualify for the top spa jobs, prime shifts, and a city business license. Meet massage insurance requirements, state and national certification.
